Start Smart Academy Childcare Drop-In and Emergency services was designed to help parents supplement their child care needs. We currently accept children as little as 18 months up to five years of age. This program is for parents who currently have their child or children enrolled in a daycare or preschool, but need additional support for school closures, emergencies, or in need of a parental break.  Parents will have to schedule in advance for spots to prevent over crowdedness and to abide by New Jersey occupancy laws. Rates start at $13.00 an hour and must be paid on the day of service.  The center is homebased and small enough where individualized attention and focus is given to students including those who have special needs. The school uses the robust creative curriculum which incorporates early literacy, math, science and social studies. By creating an engaging environment, students learn about their unique selves and others in a safe and healthy atmosphere. Teaching and learning happens, but through higher order thinking activities such as applying and synthesizing a learned skill and through exposure such

emotional learning.
