Start Smart Academy Childcare and Preschool services children from the ages of 18 months up until five years of age. The preschool is homebased and small enough where individualized attention and focus is given to students including those who have special needs. The school uses the robust creative curriculum which incorporates early literacy, math, science and social studies. By creating an engaging environment, students learn about their unique selves and others in a safe and healthy atmosphere. Teaching and learning happens, but through higher order thinking activities such as applying and synthesizing a learned skill and through exposure such

as ongoing fieldtrips and hands on activities. We make sure that our environment creates nurturing for preschool students to learn.

 

Strategically located in Maplewood, NJ which is close to major highways and public transportation, government offices and restaurants. This locale is very convenient for parents and guardians who work near the area. 

Certified with the state of New Jersey, I made a decision a year ago to become part of the solution. I felt compelled to start my center because of my own dissatisfaction with the school system as a parent and as an educator. Start Smart Academy was created with a passion to provide children and parents with a safe and nurturing environment where children could grow academically, but also socially and emotionally. It is a place where children are nurtured and not afraid to be themselves or taunted or bullied by others.
