Start Smart Academy was created in my home due to my dissatisfaction with the learning outcomes of students, particularly students who had special needs. The learning bar was always low for them, and in the course of my teaching, I begin to raise that bar and learned a lot of important lessons along the way.  As a educator for 15 years, I saw how this system profited off of students, but did not provide the necessary crucial academic, social, and emotional skills needed to become productive individuals. Guided by the principles of providing brain based and research pedagogical practices, the school was created with an understanding that each child has a divine purpose and gift. Aligned with the state of New Jersey academic standards, utilizing the concept of multi intelligences, and positive reinforcement strategies, our school equips students with the foundational skills for a higher probability of success with data driven results. It has grown to reach all students domestic and internationally.
